Celebration of Life

In Loving Memory

Dear family and friends,

We celebrate the life of our beloved one, Oha Nze Dr. Robert L.N. Offurum (KSM, KSS, FSTAN), who went to rest in the Lord on March 14, 2026, at the age of 93.

He was a man of great kindness, strength, and generosity, whose love and guidance shaped the lives of all who knew him. He had a way of making everyone he met feel important, valued, and cared for, and his presence brought comfort and joy to so many.

Dr. Bob Offurum (Nda Bob or Uncle Bob), as he was fondly called, rendered devoted service to the Church, both in the Parish, the Archdiocese, where he was the patron of Christian Mothers, and at the national level. He was a Knight of St. Mulumba (KSM) and served as Grand Knight. He was also a Papal Knight of St. Sylvester (KSS). His passion for service to society was also evident in his commitment to the community of Emekuku as Nze and as Oha.

Among other things, Dr. Bob Offurum was a lecturer at the Seat of Wisdom Seminary and St. Augustine Catechetical College, both in Owerri Archdiocese. He was also a lecturer at Imo State University (IMSU) and Alvan Ikoku Federal College of Education (now Alvan Ikoku Federal University of Education). A former educationist, he retired as a Chief Inspector of Education, under the Ministry of Education. His work as the Chairman for the Primary Education Management Board, was an appointment by the then Governor of Imo State.

His strength, resilience, and gentle but firm spirit have been a pillar of support for all of us. He has been a source of academic and spiritual strength, guidance, and wisdom in our lives. His experience and advice in that regard have been invaluable, and we are grateful for the countless lessons he shared with his children, grandchildren, in-laws, and anyone he met. Ultimately, his passion for education, dedication to family and society, and participation in religious matters will become his legacy.

Though we will miss him greatly, we are grateful for the long and fulfilling life he lived, and for the many memories, lessons, and love he leaves behind. As we prepare to celebrate his life, we request that any memory you had with him (including pictures) that you would like to share be uploaded to this site.

Thank you for keeping him, our mother - with whom he shared over 59 years of marriage - and all of us, in your thoughts and prayers.
